EV Charger App Not Connecting
Most connection issues are caused by Wi-Fi or setup settings and can be resolved quickly.
If your EV charger app is not connecting, the issue is usually related to Wi-Fi connectivity rather than a fault with the charger itself.
Home EV chargers typically connect to your home Wi-Fi network to enable features such as scheduling, monitoring, and remote control. If the signal is weak or interrupted, the app may fail to connect or update correctly.
Start by checking the Wi-Fi signal strength at the charger’s location. Chargers installed outdoors or in garages can sometimes be at the edge of a home network’s range. If the signal is weak, a Wi-Fi extender or mesh system often resolves the issue.
Next, confirm that the charger is connected to the correct network. Many chargers require a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection rather than 5GHz. If your router combines both, the charger setup may need to be repeated to ensure it joins the correct band.
Restarting the charger, the router, and the app can also help. This refreshes the connection and clears temporary network issues.
Make sure the app itself is up to date. Using an outdated version of the app can sometimes prevent proper communication with the charger.
If the app still does not connect after these checks, reconnecting the charger through the setup process usually resolves the issue. Persistent problems may require support to review network compatibility or firmware status.
